Thanks for the great newsletter. Keep up the good work! Does the bear/bull market pivot (5% above the 200 Day EMA) work for individual stocks as well, or is it only considered valid for the S&P 500 index? Seems like some of the mega cap tech stocks like AAPL and MSFT have been able to sustain rallies above that pivot, while others like TSLA and AMZN haven't. Similarly, the NASDAQ 100 is above, while DJIA is just below.
Thanks for the compliment! My analysis on the 5% is specific to the S&P 500. I have not analyzed individual stocks to determine if a similar pattern exists. The mega caps have led this most recent advance I anticipate their decline will also lead the decline.
Makes a lot of sense, and also explains why some of the mega caps are are above that level since they're disproportionately leading the rally. Playing around in Trading View, your 5% observation seems to be correlating pretty well to other indexes like the NASDAQ, an also to individual stocks. It's a good indicator to keep track of. Thanks again! Love your newsletter.
Nice bear this week.
